Cult Epics brings Tinto Brass' tale (tail?) of a young woman tired of being a virgin, FRIVOLOUS LOLA (1998) to 4K in a beautiful transfer with a buttload of fun (but not frivolous) extras. Image
Severin Films brings Spanish director Antonio Isasi's "Man Vs. Canine" thriller A DOG CALLED...VENGEANCE (1977) to Blu-ray in a gorgeous transfer, with extras filling in the background on the film and its director. Jason Miller stars as a political prisoner in a remote South American jail who breaks free, but it doggedly (ahem) by a particularly pursuant pooch. CREATURE WITH THE BLUE HAND (1967) / WEB OF THE SPIDER (1971) Film Masters Blu-ray Review

Image
Film Masters brings two creepers starring the ever-subtle Klaus Kinski to Blu-ray in solid transfers with a bloody bucket of extras, the Edgar Wallace krimi CREATURE WITH THE BLUE HAND (1967 - along with it's early 80s Sam Sherman-produced alternate cut with extra scenes and gore), and the Poe-inspired remake of CASTLE OF BLOOD, WEB OF THE SPIDER (1971) from genre legend Antonio Margheriti. Super fun Halloween viewing, and a nice intro to the world of Edgar Wallace krimis for the uninitiated. VIVA LA MUERTE (1971) Radiance Films Blu-ray Review

Image
Radiance Films brings the 1971 Spanish political arthouse film VIVA LA MUERTE to Blu-ray, loaded with extras, including a feature-length documentary on the film and its director, Fernando Arrabal. A young boy during the Spanish revolution misses his father, whose disappearance at the hands of the military dictatorship may or may not have been aided by his mother. We see the world through his eyes and dark fantasies, some of which are very much not for the squeamish and still shocking half a century later. THE CHAMPIONS (1983) Eureka! Blu-ray Review

Image
Eureka Entertainment brings 1983's martial arts soccer (sorry, FOOTBALL) film THE CHAMPIONS to Blu-ray in a gorgeous transfer with fun extras. When country bumpkin with fantastic foot-focused goose egg collecting skills applies that ferocity to the footie field, he incurs the ire of fellow footballer Dick Wei, team superstar, who happens to be in the pocket of mobsters. Fast and funny football fu in what undoubtedly had to have been an inspiration for the later SHAOLIN SOCCER. BANDITS OF ORGOSOLO (1961) Radiance Films Blu-ray Review

Image
Radiance Films brings the fascinating and absorbing Italian drama BANDITS OF ORGOSOLO (1961) to Blu-ray in a crisp black and white transfer with illuminating extras. Reminiscent of BICYCLE THEIVES (1948) by Vittorio De Sica, this tale of Sardinian shepherds directed by Vittorio De Seta plays like a documentary, following a simple shepherd in the craggy mountains of Sardinia, and his attempts to evade the police and survive in an increasingly inhospitable landscape after being wrongly accused of murder. Excellent film, which will hopefully find a wider audience with this release. Get your copy now from Amazon at: https://amzn.to/3TIjfQr (As an Amazon Associate I earn from qualifying purchases.)
