KIM'S VIDEO (2023) Theatrical Review

I'd long heard reverent tales of the legendary NYC indie video store Kim's Video, but it wasn't until the new documentary from @drafthousefilms and directors David Redmon and Ashley Sabin that I had a chance to take a peek inside (via archival footage) and hear the story of how that iconic shop came to be, and moreover the even more incredible story of what happened after it closed. More than just a documentary about a video store, the film shows the impact and power of film, community, historical preservation, and how a mountain of video tapes and DVDs can lead to international intrigue.
